Font Aid V

While we have been working on some other cool projects, we interrupted our normal stream to participate in Font Aid V: Made for Japan / A typeface to benefit tsunami and earthquake relief in Japan.

Font Aid is a great fundraiser, now in it's fifth installment. It was started by  Claes Källarsson for UNICEF and thus inspired Stuart Sandler to start the fundraiser for the September 11 tragedies with the Society of Typographic Aficionados (SoTA). Later Font Aid III and IV were created for the 2005 earthquake and tsunamis and the 2010 Haitian earthquakes. You can read a more detailed "brief history" here.

While we are still working on our submission and it will be a while before the collection will be for sale, it occurred to me that other designers/artists we know might want to get involved by submitting their own glyphs by Friday, March 25.

We'll follow up when the collection is available for sale.

Spring is Here (Finally)

Today is the first day of spring—hooray!

We wanted to celebrate by looking back at a project we were working on a year ago.
Last year the Master Gardener Program at the University of Connecticut held a competition
to design their new logo. While we like the logo they chose (one of ours), we had also submitted
a few others that we were quite fond of.

Here's a look back at some of these unsung heroes.

We have a new look

We've spent the past several days redesigning and updating our website.
Take a look around. Let us know what you think. Enjoy!
